The actor was suffering from depression for the last 6 months and was living alone during the lockdown. Going with the investigation reports, the actor was found hanging in his room. Coincidently, 5 days prior to his death, his ex-manager Disha Sailan committed suicide by jumping off the 14th floor of her apartment in Mumbai.

A glimpse at his early life: Sushant Singh Rajput was born on 21st January'86 in Patna, Bihar. He attended St. Karen's High School in Patna and Kulachi Hansraj Model School in New Delhi. He lost his beloved mother in 2002. He was a bright student from the very beginning. He went on to secure AIR 7th in AIEEE and opted for Mechanical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. To add another feather to his hat, he also won the Physics Olympiad. He dropped out of college to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. While he was a college student, he attended Shiamak Davar's dance classes and later Barry John's acting classes.

Early career days: Sushant started his silver screen career with Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil and rose to fame with Pavitra Rishta. His chemistry with Ankita Lokhande was widely cherished. He showed signs of brilliance since then. In Zara Nachke Dikha, Rajput was a part of the Mast Kalandar Boys Team. He made his debut with Kai Po Che! which is based on Chetan Bhagat's best-selling novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life for which he won the Screen Award for Best Male Debut and was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

Film Career: Kai Po Che! was his debut film which later proved to be a critical and commercial success. Rajput never looked back since then. He gave the audience many blockbusters one after another. Shuddh Desi Romance, Kedarnath, Chhichhore, Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, Sonchiriya, Raabta, etc. to name a few. The spotlight of his career is undoubtedly Neeraj Pandey's biographical sports film M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, in the lead role of Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. This film became the highest-grossing movie of 2016. His acting skills and his uncanny resemblance with Dhoni has earned him a lot of applauds. This film made him win the Screen Award for Best Actor and led to his first nomination for the Filmfare award for the Best Actor.

Tragic end to a beautiful tale:

The actor was only 34 years old and was a heartthrob and role model for the young generation. Despite not having any filmy background, Rajput broke the shackles of nepotism and made a place for him on the big screen. In his movie Chhichhore, he taught us to deal with suicidal thoughts and why suicide is never the answer but fell victim in his own character in real life.

Sushant Singh Rajput was struggling from depression for the last 6 months but no one ever thought that he will take such a big step to end his beautiful journey, turning a pleasant tone into melancholy. He was a brilliant student, a Physics enthusiast, a marvelous actor, a fashion icon, and a role model for many. Indeed a shooting star in the cloudy night, gone forever.

May his soul rest in peace.
